E-mail timeouts

Recently a client of mine started having some e-mail issues.  The e-mail had been working just fine until I just added some new users onto there Small Business Server.  The funny issue is that only one person ( the Main Guy of Course) is having issues.  Here is the setup information:

We are running Small Business Server with Exchange.  However we do not host the e-mail.  We only use exchange to share contacts and share Calendars.  The mail is sent via a SMTP connection and retrieved via a pop connection.  They do use outlook 2003.   There are two e-mail account, one being the exchange server and the default one being there pop account.

The computer is question is a Laptop running vista and office 2003.

He had been running just fine till a recent trip and now he continually gets timed out errors from clients and the Exchange server appears, even though it is not the default.

Here are the messages:

All these messages are sent to different domain addresses yet they are the same error.  What might be causing this?

That is a common problem - SBS wants Exchange to be the default.

Fix it like this, and get him to resend the mail that didn't go -> http://www.slipstick.com/problems/defaultacct.htm

ok, it seems to have fixed the issue, however I have one user who has contact cards of people within the network that seems to use the X400 address to try to send e-mail.  Everytime I delete and try to type in their e-mail address it gives them a x400 address instead of the real address. Any thoughts?
That is a separate question.

All mail enabled objects have email addresses given to them by the Recipient Update Servers, which references the Recipient Policy - change the recipient policy and you will change the email addresses automatically given.
