Problems using SharePoint Designer Backup and Restore... data from custom list not being restored.

I am using SharePoint Designer Backup and Restore functions to move a WSS subsite from one location to another.

It works okay except for one problem.  I have a custom list with a column defined as 'multiple lines of text' and with checkbox 'Append Changes to Existing Text'.

When I restored the site, it seems to truncate some of these list items that are especially long.

Is there anything I can do about this?  Will the stsadm command line tool work better?
