The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Receiving Frontpage Error when submitting a form with IE 7. Mozilla works fine.

I have a form created for users to acknowledge that a policy has been read. The from writes data to a CSV file and then emails an acknowledgement to the user.and also shows an acknowledgement on the web page. The form has worked previously but has started to have problems. When the form is submitted, a frontpage error message appears. The users still receive the acknowledgement email and the file is updated, but no acknowledgement appears on the screen only the Frontpage Error, please contact your web administrator. I have reinstalled the FP extensions. It also works if you get to the form through the members section of our webpage by logging on with administrator rights. But does not work for everyone else.

i  had this years ago and i think i just recreated a new form a all was ok - i know this is not ideal but i know it worked for me

05.09.2008 at 04:33AM PDT, ID: 21531757
I recreated the form from scratch and got the same error. This time it was both IE7 and Mozilla that received the error. I restored to the original version and am back to my original problem. IE7 gets the frontpage error and mozilla does not.

1.compliance.csv has permissions to be written to.
2. That is where the problem may be occuring at the acknowledgement. When I go to the form and press submit, the csv file is updated and an email is generated, but instead of the acknowledgement, i get a FP error.

05.09.2008 at 12:15PM PDT, ID: 21535691
The problem has been corrected. If appears that the .csv file had some type of problem, either corruption or some other problem. I rewrote the form using expression web and pointed the results to a new .csv file and everything worked. I then went back to FP2003 and changed the .csv file in the original form and it worked as well. I compared all of the permissions between the two .csv files and they were exactly the same, so it would seem that the original .csv file has some type of problem. Anyway, thanks for the help on thsi problem.
