Javascript error message won't display...
hi,
I did everything to solve this problem, enabling, disabling, restarting, but still no luck...
sometimes it works sometimes not, yes just like that without me changing anything, does anyone know what the problem might be? here's what I did (couple of what I did):

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;236846

one more thing I have Norton Internet Security and Norton Anti Virus enabled at all times and it puts its javascript code just before any javascript starts, maybe that's my problem? I also disabled scripting.... no differnce
at the beginning of the page it starts like this:
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
function SymError()
{
return true;
}
window.onerror = SymError;
var SymRealWinOpen = window.open;
function SymWinOpen(url, name, attributes)
{
return (new Object());
}
window.open = SymWinOpen;
//-->
</script>
and at the an of the page:
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
window.open = SymRealWinOpen;
//-->
</script>

Hi dave,
You're welcome. IMHO, Norton's name isn't worth as much as it used to be in the early/mid-80s (when he actually had something to do with the products that used his name)

are you telling me that I should bought something else instead of norton, what? is there anything better then norton?
No, I'm only saying that when Norton was involved, the products he sold were better and more bug free. You should go to Symantec's site, though, and see if there is an upgrade that takes care of the 'SymError' "feature". Insofar as better firewall protection, the vast majority are equally as good as the next, meaning if a hacker were really intent on getting to your system, s/he could (regardless of Norton, etal)
