The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Moving MAS200 to new server

Asked by SafetyNet-TC in MAS90 Financial Software, Tax / Financial Software

Tags: , ,

I have a new customer for whom we're installing a new server farm in a different office.  We need to move the existing MAS200 installation to the new server, same version no upgrade.  I'll mention too that everybody accesses MAS200 via a dedicated Terminal Server.  I have been talking to the customer's MAS200 consultants but I'd like to have an objective third party opinion on how this process should work.

In my mind they would install MAS200 on the new server.  Install all the IP printers to the server(s).  Backup and restore the data from the old server to the new.  Deploy the MAS200 client on the new Terminal Server and test it.  Repoint users to the new Terminal Server.  There are obviously more steps but this seems to be generally how it would go.

The consulting company is insisting on flying to the new server location.  I can't for the life of me figure out why and when I push they just tell me that because I haven't done this before myself I wouldn't understand.  I'll mention that I've moved many other accounting applications including some of the big ones such as Great Plains.  With all the remote control tools available this makes zero sense to me.  Does anybody have any experience with this?  Am I missing something?

Thank you,
