Question about mx records and the barracuda spam filter

I just installed a Barracuda SPAM Filter and wanted to check if I setup our MX records correctly.

I basically have a login to Expedients DNS Control Panel and that is the only MX record there is, I don't think we have a local one at all on our Exchange 2003 server.

Our old MX record was pointing to mail.ourdomain.com and we had a host record also for that domain that pointed to the IP of our mail server.

I deleted both of these and created a new MX record barracuda.ourdomain.com and also a new host name that points to the barracuda's public ip now instead of our mailserver.

It's been about 11 hours, but no incoming mail yet and when I did a DNS Tool Lookup of our domain the MX records are non-existent, so it must be in the process of changing over.  

Do I need to create any local MX records?  I have the barracuda pointed at our exchange server so it should pass mail through to it.

Just wondered if anyone has been through this process before.
