I have a remote end user which can not send email via a POP3 account to remote domains. This started after the Exchange / Domain Controller server lost power and went off-line yesterday. The user can receive mail and can send mail to others on the same domain, however he cannot send email to any other domains. All other remote users have no problem with this, only this user.
Troubleshooting completed thus far:
1. removed POP3 account from user's computer, restarted computer and re-added the POP3 account
2. have restarted all Exchange services on the Exchange server
3. confirmed POP 3 virtual server is running
4. created a test POP 3 account, added it to the user's computer and had no luck with that account either
5. tried to shut off Norton Internet Security, specifically email scanning but have had no luck there
Info:
- server is a Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, SP2
- Exchange 2003, SP2
- all Exchange related services are running
- POP 3 Virtual server is on-line
- no messages are sitting in the Exchange server queue
- client is a Windows XP Pro SP2 with Norton Internet Security
