Moving a file off of an Ipod

I have a user that recently had his laptop stolen out of his office.  We are trying to set everything back up on his computer that the company purchased for him.  Long story short he has a recent copy of his outlook contacts saved to his Ipod (he said his daughter set it up for him like this while she was home from college).  I was wondering if anyone knew of a way for me to get access to that file so I can move it off the Ipod and import it back into his outlook contacts.  I don't want to install itunes if I can avoid it and I haven't used an ipod for a few years so I'm not sure if that will let me have file access to the device when it is plugged in.  If anyone knows of any other way for me to get at this it would be very helpful.  Start Free Trial
